Gilbert Arenas misses the world championship due to groin injury

One of the better defenders on the USA basketball team, Gilbert Arenas will miss the games due to a nasty groin injury.

Managing director Jerry Colangelo said, "We know Gilbert is really disappointed. He's done a great job. "It's an unfortunate situation, but he is not going to be able to continue on."

I'll admit I don't know much about professional rugby, but a neck fracture sounds like a horrible injury to happen during play. There are many scares during American football with neck injuries, but nothing is usually major.

Bulls doctor Tommie Smook  said, "At first it looked as if it was concussion only, but then we examined him further after he complained about his neck. The staff of the emergency unit at Loftus Versfeld took him through all the precautionary tests and we found the problem between the neck vertebrae. He basically has a fracture."

Khalil Greene gets lucky after getting hit in the hand

Few things can be as scary as a baseball player being hit in the hand by a pitch. You can break your hand, wrist or end up with ligament damage. Luckily, x-rays show that Khalil Greene suffered no bone based injury.

San Diego Padres manager Bruce Bochy said, "Gosh, this kid's got buzzard's luck."
